Alison & Alex - Venachar Lochside Wedding, Callander, Scotland
Alison & Alex are keen hillwalkers and outdoorsy people, which was seen in their church and venue decor, as well as in their choice of location for their wedding. Alison is from Callander so it was an obvious choice from that point of view, but it is also surrounded by hills, lochs and fields.
Alison's sister made all the bouquets, buttonholes and flower decorations, they had a lovely and friendly local hairdresser (Hair by Joolz) do their hair, and Alison had a lovely hair piece from the Artisan Dried Flower Company. They did their own make up, and the whole morning was lovely and relaxed with a good dose of fun thrown in.
They married at Trossachs Church of Scotland Church, we drove to take some photographs in a muddy field beside a loch (a lot prettier than it sounds, and worth the effort) then they had thier reception at Venachar Lochside. They had loads of time to just chat and relax with their friends and family, which was really lovely. After dinner and speeches, they cut their cake and danced their first dance. Then began the ceilidh. With mostly Scots in attendance, The Ian Milligan Trio on the music and the Hillwalking Club from Edinburgh Uni as a large core of guests on the dancefloor, this rocked!
