Excitingly, I travelled quite far South for Ben & Becky's wedding this summer. I'm usually further North, but this time, I got more warmth, more daylight and a gorgeous, bright, wedding with a thunderstorm at the end of their outdoor ceremony for some added drama. Ben & Becky chose to get married in the Magdalene College of Cambridge University - a stunning location, surrounded by family and close friends. Larkspur Floral Design did a magnificent job with the bouquets, as well as with the hall decorations for the reception, and even found a couple of peonies right at the very end of the season.
Ben & Becky's day was so relaxed. They had an early ceremony, and two confetti throws (the first included rain) with rose petals and lavender buds dried over the previous months by a family member. Their wedding breakfast was a late lunch, which was followed by some emotional speeches. Then there was nothing specific planned until late afternoon, so some people went punting on the river Cam, while others played lawn games and chatted in the sun, before we all reunited for an evening of dancing, cake cutting (a four-tier thing of beauty with a little nod to Ben and Becky's love of cycling), chips and pick & mix eating. The day included a lot of laughs, and it was an absolute joy to witness and be a part of.
