In March, I drove up to Saint Andrews for Charlie and Kacey's lovely sophisticated yet simple wedding. It was the windiest day I have known in a while but they were unphased and everything (except the photos on the beach) went ahead as planned. Friends and family flew in from the UK and abroad, some very nearly missed the ceremony but made it with no time to spare!
Kacey had one bridesmaid and two flower girls, all wearing different but complimentary dresses, while Charlie's best man and ushers matched exactly. The ladies had simple and beautiful white tulip bouquets. Their hair and make up was done by Laura Sutherland Make Up, and Kacey chose a simple, elegant tea length dress, which her mum and bridesmaid helped her in to.
Having both graduated from Saint Andrews, St Salvator's Chapel was an obvious choice for their ceremony, and they organised a ball at Kinkell Byre during their student days and loved it so much (you'll see why) they made that their reception location. They enjoyed a wonderful buffet wedding breakfast catered by Big Bite Catering and one of the best wedding bands I've had the pleasure of listening to, Goldstar.
Here's my favourite detail from the day, saved til last. Just after Kacey had finished her hair and make up, there was a knock on the door, and a gift from Charlie arrived - a calendar with dates marked in for the next 6 months for them to celebrate each month of being married. Not only that, but a lovely little box to put memories from these dates. He'd also found some Russian Dolls (Kacey has a thing for Russian dolls) with the smallest doll being tiny (very important!) and they looked like brides. Oh, and a diet coke. He knows his bride well! Later in the day, Kacey found he had planned another surprise. Their cake topper was a custom made Charlie and Kacey Russian Doll couple. I love these little things that make a wedding day all the more special and memorable for the couple.
Enough with the chatter though, enjoy some photographs of this wonderful day!
