Ken and Hannah both live in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, but decided on a beautiful little church, in a beautiful little village, for their wedding in the Lake District last month. Their guest list is the smallest I have come upon yet, with just thirteen people attending their wedding. Immediate families, and Hannah's godparents - her godfather married them in the church he is the minister of, Holy Trinity, Langdale. After their lovely ceremony, we drove through gorgeous countryside to a cute B&B, Elterwater Park Country Guesthouse, stopping off on the way for a few photographs with amazing green hills in the background. The owners at Elterwater are really friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. A buffet meal and a relaxed afternoon chatting, recounting past family holidays and playing games together (including giant bubbles and flame juggling) was the perfect way to celebrate this lovely couple tying the knot surrounded by their close family.
Hannah found the perfect dress in Phase Eight and wore pearls given to her by her grandmother. Her sisters did her hair and she did her own make-up, which added to the homely feel of the day. Ken decorated the tables for the meal and a family friend, Ann, made their wedding cake, including the sugar cornflowers on top to match Hannah's bouquet.
Here is a selection of their wedding photographs, I hope you can get a flavour of their day. I feel very privileged to have been a part of it!
Congratulations again, Hannah and Ken! I wish you a long and happy marriage.
